Mathematics provides children with access to important mathematical ideas, knowledge and skills that they will draw on in their personal and working lives. The mathematics curriculum focuses on developing increasingly sophisticated and refined mathematical understanding, fluency, reasoning, modelling and problem-solving. These capabilities enable children to respond to familiar and unfamiliar situations by employing mathematics to make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently.

Tarneit Rise Primary School provides a sequential and comprehensive mathematics program that ensures all children succeed. We aim to support, challenge, extend and motivate all children. Activities are planned to provide children with the necessary skills and strategies to deal with mathematics situations in everyday life.

All classroom programs and assessments are in line with the Victorian Curriculum.
